Project Overview
My team and I had the pleasure of transforming this once-underutilized space in Neutral Bay into a seamless indoor-outdoor entertaining area. Our goal was to create a sophisticated yet inviting courtyard that blends natural materials with thoughtful craftsmanship, making it both functional and visually striking.
The spotted gum hardwood bench seat is the centrepiece of the space, bringing warmth and character while providing a comfortable place to gather. The rich textures of French pattern travertine tiling enhance the courtyard’s elegance, offering a timeless and durable surface underfoot. To ensure both beauty and practicality, we incorporated a custom-built retaining wall, seamlessly integrated into the design to provide structure and definition. A set of crafted stairs complements the space, guiding movement while enhancing the natural flow between levels. Every element, from precise drainage solutions to carefully prepared soil, was designed to ensure longevity and functionality.
By balancing structure with organic elements, we’ve created a courtyard that is both simple and sophisticated, effortlessly connecting the indoors with the outdoors. Whether it’s for quiet morning moments or lively evening gatherings, this space is designed to be enjoyed for years to come.
